Hi.

Welcome to my blog, where I document my adventures. I hope you have a nice stay!

Travel Beauty Routine I am probably the last person who should be sharing or writing a beauty guide for travel - but in the interest of paring down, traveling light, and being confident and happy in your own skin, I’m doing it anyway! I don’t wear much makeup to begin with, I take very good care of my skin and when you have good skin, you don’t need much makeup or any at all. Most of my weekends are makeup free. I’m also lazy when it comes to wearing makeup. You will never see me contouring, because I just do not care. If you added to this photo a very small, neutral eyeshadow palette, a tiny pot of black gel eyeliner, a blending brush, and a tiny pot of concealer, you’d have my whole makeup bag.   Last year when I went to Iceland, I brought tinted moisturizer, mascara, and lipstick. I think I wore those items twice. That was a more active trip, with some hiking excursions, time outdoors, etc. Since I’ll be in some bigger cities and not in the laid-back city of Reykjavik, I thought I should step up my game somewhat and wear some actual makeup for most days. The photo above showcases the only makeup items that I will be packing. You’ll notice I have a thing for Josie Maran’s line. I really like the fluid foundation. It makes your skin glow, it only takes a tiny dot of product to cover your entire face, and it feels nice and smells good. I also like that the entire line is cruelty-free, made with natural and organic ingredients, and paraben free. The mascara and the coconut water cheek stain I’ve been using for quite a while but the foundation is new-ish to me and I’ve really liked the coverage and feel for the 2 months I’ve been using it. In a nutshell, I go for minimal makeup because I think that true beauty is being confident and comfortable in your own skin. And, there’s nothing prettier that you can wear on your face than a smile. Also, I’m lazy and a converted minimalist when it comes to packing. If you look at that photo above and add two tiny lipsticks to it (a red for night and a coral for day), a sample size rollerball perfume, and a tube of chapstick, then that is all I plan to bring.
