Hi.

Welcome to my blog, where I document my adventures. I hope you have a nice stay!

Packing for warm weather: Panama and Colombia

Packing for Hot Weather There’s nothing pretty about my suitcase, but there also nothing pretty about shoes laying on top of your clothes like you see in some other blog posts from other bloggers. That’s really gross, actually. So here’s the deal, this is the first time I’ve taken a week long, trip to the tropics. I have a tight connection tomorrow in Miami and I decided about 10 minutes ago to remove my aerosol sunscreen and OFF bugspray and carry-on. We can buy a big can or two and share it amongst the three of us. Same for sunscreen. We were told to wear insect repellant with DEET during the day. Ick, I hate chemicals. But I also hate mosquito bites and diseases that come from them. So in that jumbled mess up there, I have flip flops in the plastic bag, two other pairs of sandals in cloth shoe bags, one linen skirt, one black crop top, a pair of loose-fitting flowy pants, two tanks, a denim jacket, a Panama hat, a swimsuit, a maxi dress, a couple of day dresses, and one fancier dress that I will wear to dinner at Donde Jose. What I am not taking is jeans, heels or much makeup at all. I might just take lipstick, rouge blush, my mascara, and eyelsash curler. I have a feeling I will be just fine with my skincare regimen and barely any makeup. As for clothes, I will probably throw in a pair of leggings and a work out top and bra just in case, as well as remove one of the maxi dresses. I think I’m over packed but these clothes are all so much lightweight than what I’m used to packing so I just kept tossing more in!   I also went to Target today for last minute items and I found a mini-backpack! Score! So much cheaper than what I kept seeing. It’s black with gold hardware and made of of a neoprene or faux-neoprene material. The best part is I think it is big enough to make it my carry on and I can pack my purse in my suitcase, Then I will just transfer stuff depending on what I want to carry each day. I like options! As you will remember from previous trips, I really love my Lo & Sons OMG bag. Considering that I don’t need a jacket or any marathon gear this trip though, I think I’m going to travel even lighter. I might be changing that up in the morning though, who knows? The sun in Panama should be intense, and I am pretty fair skinned. I do tan though, however, I just purchased one of those higher necked, halter style bikinis. The top reminds me of a sports bra. I really think I am going to like it because of the coverage and for being active. I also think it will be great for blocking out sun on my upper chest. I don’t have much sun damage but that is the one place it is visible so I’ve become much more conscious of protecting it.
