Hi.

Welcome to my blog, where I document my adventures. I hope you have a nice stay!

Orlando It’s been a minute since I wrote, and I apologize for that. Sometimes life, work, and a lack of inspiration are to blame. These are all to blame in my case. That said, it’s the start of a busy season that leads right into the holidays. Before we know it, 2016 will be here. Don’t hate me for saying that.   I was in Orlando last month for work and even though it is not a destination I would necessarily choose for a vacation - I was introduced to a very charming, area of the city ( Baldwin Park ) and dined with a friend at a very good restaurant called Osprey Tavern . If you go there, I recommend a dozen oysters or half-dozen if you’re dining alone, make sure to try a few of each kind. My friend and I shared the Florida Grouper - which was delicious. The cocktails were delicious and innovative.   My friend had never been there and she was waiting for a reason to go. I am glad that my being in town was the reason. We parked a little farther from the restaurant and walked through the little neighborhood “downtown” where there were a lot of bars, and restaurants and people enjoying the perfect central Florida evening weather - not cold, but not hot. I was in Orlando with my coworkers to manage a convention and we were staying at the Loew’s Portofino Hotel and Resort on the Universal Studios campus/property. It was a nice hotel, very spread out. The novelty was a water taxi to the amusement parks from the hotel (and there was also one from the Hard Rock Hotel - the other Universal property). I would not necessarily select it for myself because it was definitely a family-oriented hotel and since I am a solo traveler, sans partner and children, it isn’t really my scene. It is however, a great hotel for families visiting Universal Studios or the Disney Parks.
