Hi.

Welcome to my blog, where I document my adventures. I hope you have a nice stay!

Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites Travel : Belize or Costa Rica, one of them will be my next Central American country to visit. Strong case for Belize here . But if you need a luxury digital detox, here are some options. A safety tip for solo travelers. Ukraine has fascinated me since I was young, perhaps because I was really into gymnastics as a kid and one of my favorite gymnasts was Ukrainian (Lilia Podkopayeva, if you’re wondering) and that might also be why I was very aware of Eastern European geography as a child. This just makes a stronger case for me. Summer Europe fares : GET ON IT. I bought my return from Reykjavik to Chicago (June 7) last week or the week before (IcelandAir) and the price dropped almost $100 from the day before. Check early and check often. I paid $288 one way instead of $384. Eat and Drink: The only thing I have in common with Hemingway . Life : I laughed at this . Since I love LA, I really enjoyed reading this .   Amal Clooney is badass for fighting against the human rights violations ISIS has committed and taking them to the UN. I liked this article , which was not exactly all about that. I’m a big fan of Emma Watson (Beauty and the Beast was wonderful, IMHO) and I love this little compilation Buzzfeed has put together. An update on my personal note from last week. This work week I succeeded in waking up 4 of 5 mornings and meditating and I’m 5 for 5 on my little yoga sequence. I started on the weekend but that doesn’t count as much as the 5:30 wake up for work. I also got some good work news on Tuesday afternoon so that has helped. However, I do think that waking up and NOT starting my day in bed by scrolling through my email, Facebook, Intagram, or the New York Times has helped my mood. I get up and make sure I drink a giant glass of water with lemon and ACV, do the yoga, do the meditation on Headspace (not really meditating yet) and then after all of that, I   start with all of the digital annoyances in the world and turn on my tv to watch the news. A few days in, this has helped me focus on good things, first thing and feel a little more peaceful and intentional and not mad. I hope that I can keep this going, I like my little morning routine and the peace it provides. It’s the little things, right?
