In four months I will be in Warsaw. I purchased the small phrasebook above, which I hope will be helpful for Riga and Vilnius. In Warsaw, I am staying in an Airbnb with a host who speaks English - and I will not be in Warsaw for that long, so I am comfortable making my own little notecard/cheat sheet of phrases to slip into this book for that portion of the trip.
I have booked all of my flights, made all of the plans for places to sleep/stay, and loosely made lists of highlights for each city. I started looking at restaurants because I love to eat but I need to consult my “Where Chef’s Eat” book and Trip Advisor for that, and what I want to eat is also dependent on my mood at the time. I may be craving something specific, so I like to not be so rigid in restaurant planning
I started looking for cultural activities to do or see, like the opera, a ballet, the theatre, etc and was coming up empty. It seems that tickets are all sold out already. On a whim, I decided to check for concerts too. I’ve always wanted to see one of my favorite bands in another country. It is a lesser-known, lower-ranked bucket list item of mine ;). A quick search revealed that the very talented band, Postmodern Jukebox, is performing in Vilnius on May 18 - and I now have a ticket! Third row! I don’t think I would necessarily call PMJ one of my very favorite bands, but I am really excited to see them live, I’ve heard they’re fantastic.
