Hi Friends! If you’re reading this on Friday May 3rd, I’m on a plane to Vancouver, BC or already there! My first long trip of 2019 and I am sooooo ready! I haven’t talked a lot about this trip yet, because when I got back into the swing of things and writing here, I immediately started reviewing my South America and Africa trips. The latter is not quite finished. I am spending the weekend in Vancouver with friends who live in Kelowna. Sunday, most of us are running the Vancouver half or full marathon. My friend Zoe (also went to Africa) arrives on Sunday and then we all depart Vancouver on Monday. Zoe and I head to Whistler and the locals back home to Kelowna. It should be a fun trip! And if you’re wondering how I have friends in Kelowna, BC, well I met Nigelle (Gelley) in Tulum, Mexico at our hostel last year. Zoe and I depart for Chicago on Friday May, 10th. But while in Whistler, we have a lot of fun plans and I’ll honestly be glad to have the weekend to recover.
On to the links!
Food and Travel
LA friends (you know who you are) check these out, or at least one, and report back. Or maybe, I can venture out there in September and check them out with you?
I absolutely DO NOT need a new purse, I have three and I rotate them, and they’re all small cross-body bags. But I love this one, definitely would just get my first initial and with the guitar-style strap and in the Bordeaux color. Happy Birthday to me, from me, maybe.
I have not read this list yet because I need to cool it with already planning 2020 trips. So when I’m back from Vancouver, I’m going to take a peek at it.
HOW MUCH EXERCISE TO DO TO OFFSET SITTING AT A DESK JOB. I have a standing desk and have a love hate relationship with it. I also know that sitting is the new smoking and no matter if I am hitting the gym for an hour a day or being active for an hour 5-7 days a week, I feel like it is not enough. This sitting thing stresses me out more than it should, can you tell?
So I don’t think I’ve mentioned how much more yoga I’ve been doing in 2019, but most of it is due to this app, Alo Moves Yoga. I love it. I’ve done yoga 87 days of 2019 so far, (out of 121). That is right around 71%. I slacked off a bit in April due to work stress and getting back in to a groove with lifting weights and figuring out my schedule, but I am back on track. I love the variety of classes, styles, lengths, diversity of instructors, and that new classes are added daily. I am never bored and I can save my favorites. I’ve also been enjoying the meditations on it. I love that I can do it anywhere too! do not have a discount code (I wish) but the first two weeks are free. Give it a shot if you like yoga but can’t afford daily studio classes or have been curious to start a home practice.
Have a great weekend! <3
