Happy Good Friday to everyone and especially if you celebrate the Easter season. In stark contrast to the last 5-6 weekends, I have very few plans this weekend and I am STOKED about it. I am off today, Friday, and that is why this was not posted at 5 am like usual. I have some meetings today but the rest of the time is mine. So without further ado, a few links.
My friend sent me this article about privilege and passports, and I’d skimmed it earlier in the day but I’m so glad she sent it because I remember to go back and finish reading it. It really does make you think about how lucky Westerners are, and on top of that, white Westerners. It is really unfair. I will also never complain about having to get a visa again, not even for Europe when that goes into effect for US citizens.
A cabin in the woods and off the grid sounds great, sign me up.

Since I am looking the possibility of a surf camp/retreat in SE Asia next March, this intrigues me. If I don’t end up doing the surf retreat in SE Asia, then Costa Rica (haven’t been yet) is my second choice. I’m already planning on yoga retreat in Asia, planning on meaning I’ve already made a deposit. This winter I only had the ski getaway in the Midwest and that was very fun and I plan to have more next winter but good lord I need a bigger trip in the winter too.
Sometimes being too strict with yourself is just as bad as having no rules or boundaries for yourself. The linked article is about positive things that might be making you unhappy.
I really like my Happiness Planner. I bought and used the entire book and bought another one when I was finished. It isn’t cheap, but here’s my tip, buy the clearance editions that have last year’s calendar at the front. The daily use has blanks for the dates so you can write in whatever you want.. I use it almost daily - when I’m traveling for work and have to be up super early, it is a bit more difficult. I really liked this article that arrived in my inbox from the company and wanted to share it.
That’s it for today! Monday, we’ll go to Zanzibar (by way of the post). Although I’d loooove to go back.
