Back from a hiatus
Hi friends, I’ve been pretty MIA since my trip to Toronto over my birthday weekend and for that I apologize. I have done a lot and traveled around the US and Canada quite a bit. I moved! I applied to grad school! I started yoga teacher training and a side gig! I have a lot going on and I just have not had time to sit down and write. I have been very inspired to get back to it though because my trip to Ecuador is next month (provided the political situation calms down) and if not, my friend and I are going somewhere else (tbd).
That said, over the next few weeks I’ll write about my trips to: Lake Tahoe, Denver, Niagara Falls (part of my trip to Toronto), Southwest Florida/Clearwater, Victoria and the southern part of Vancouver Island, and I have some fun guest posts coming up from friends old and new.
And a note, with grad school and yoga teacher training, my blog focus might change a bit. I have started to wonder if 40 countries before or by 40 is feasible. I definitely started off with that plan and visited 5-6 new countries two years in a row, but I traveled to different parts of Canada this year and I’ll be visiting Ecuador - or at least one new country in 2019. Only one new country. I’ve really scaled back my travel this year because I thought I’d be getting a new job but that has not been the case. I am very very excited about graduate school and thoroughly enjoying yoga teacher training, but I can’t travel as much because of both. So, as much as I want to hold myself to the goal of 40 countries, I realize that a master’s degree in tourism management might lead to more and better opportunities to travel after I finish my program and thus I am willing to put in the work and travel less in order to have a career that aligns with my interests and values more. I have a lot of exciting stuff coming up and I can’t wait for school but I don’t want to wish the next 7 months away nor can I share too much more at the moment.
So that’s where I am at the moment, I have a lot of fun posts and I’m back. I am happy to be back and to get back into a routine of writing and sharing. <3
