Happy Memorial Day weekend! Who doesn't need a long weekend? Especially if, like me, you're also getting a work from home day on Friday too and we only have to work until 1! In Chicago, some people travel to their lakehouses in Illinois, Wisconsin, or Michigan for this weekend, but I am dogsitting in my neighborhood and meeting a friend for breakfast Saturday morning and plan to take advantage of the nice weather we are supposed to have by going to the beach and a bike ride and run at least one time each. I'm also kicking off MDW by going to see the Han Solo movie tonight. :)
Some of my favorite links this week, sort of summer-themed:
I normally hate headlines proclaiming that one culture "does it better". We all have our charms and quirks, but I do like this article about what Italians do better. Italy is magical, beautiful, laid back, and Italians know how to live. I have not been to Italy in over 10 years but now I'm itching to go back. I can't believe it has been that long since I've had gelato!
I've never done a virtual race, but since I'm still training for another race, I'm tempted to do this one for Global Running Day in two weeks since the proceeds go to a very worthy cause (Every Mother Counts).
I don't remember signing up for the Food & Wine email list but if they're going to suggest 30 rosés I should try, then who am I to object to being on that list!?
Enjoy celebrating the holiday weekend and what it stands for and have a safe and happy time.
