Planning for a move abroad
Right now, my head is swirling with a laundry list of things that I need to do before my move over the next few months. I think this adventure has the potential to overwhelm even the most organized person. I am definitely not the most organized, but in no way am I disorganized.
Last night, I had some insomnia due to a sore throat and I actually started worrying about where I will move after my TEFL program, how movers are booked and paid for in a foreign country, and what if I don't find a job, etc. I actually had to stop myself because I am not by nature, a worrier. I have had a big move before, 14 years ago I moved to Chicago from Florida and I survived.
I am a much more confident and self-assured person now. I can pretty much handle anything life throws at me and I don't let many things stress me out. My personal belief is that nothing is an emergency unless there is grave danger or death involved. That is kind of morbid but it works for me because it causes me less stress and allows me to reserve true concern and panic for extreme situations.
That said, I feel like sometime soon I will have to make a Google doc of tasks and items to be completed before the move. Things to sell, things to put in storage (aka my sister and her fiance's place) things to ship overseas. It is a lot to think about, plan, and digest, but I am really excited about the possibilities and what lies ahead.
